This summer marked an exciting chapter in the history of All-Star Sports Academy with the launch of our very first Combat Softball team and what a season it was.
Based out of our Cherry Hill Training Center, the inaugural Combat Softball team was led by coaches Alaina Spates and Rylee Lutz. As our program took its first steps into the competitive softball scene, these two coaches provided the guidance, mentorship, and leadership needed to help our athletes grow into strong, confident teammates on and off the field.
Coach Alaina reflected on the journey with pride:
“I could not be more proud of this group of girls. They came together and continued to get better every single week. As a first-season team, they battled, won a few games, and grew together as one solid group.”
Their progress wasn’t just about wins, it was about building something from the ground up. These athletes learned what it means to trust their teammates, learn from setbacks, and stay focused on long-term development. And that’s what Combat Softball is all about.
At All-Star Sports Academy, our mission is to inspire and mentor young athletes to become successful individuals – one game, one lesson, and one player at a time. This team exemplified that mission every time they stepped on the field.
Looking ahead, Combat Softball is expanding. With 12U and 14U teams launching at our Cherry Hill, Downingtown, and Havertown training centers, we’re excited to welcome even more athletes into a program built on development, competition, and community.
The future is bright for Combat Softball and we’re just getting started.
